The Administrator of the HCA Florida Trauma Registry will manage all aspects of the Florida Acute Care Hospital Trauma Registry and the Florida Trauma Center Registry at national, state, region, and HCA levels which include: development and achievement of organizational goals, generation of performance reports/dashboards, direction of data collection and analysis, provision of data quality control and HIPAA requirements, management of staff, and education and training of trauma registrars and abstractors and research support. The Administrator reports to the CSG, Trauma Services Director of Operations and works in concert with the USF HCA Trauma Network Medical Director, the Division Trauma Service AVPs, and the Administrator of the Enterprise-Wide Trauma Data Center to meet regulatory requirements in the Florida Department of Health and the American College of Surgeons NTDB and TQIP.


Database management
Collaborate with, software vendor, USF and HCA in developing and maintaining the integrity of the registry
Oversee aggregation of data from multiple sites
Provide data mapping of incongruous datasets
Identify additional data points needed for performance improvement and research
System development and integration of the trauma registry database utilizing multiple data sources
Utilize the trauma registry and other available data to assist with trauma system development in the state of Florida and other trauma centers throughout the HCA National Group
Integrate the FL Acute Care Hospital Trauma Registry for HCA non-trauma centers linkage to HCA trauma centers and other resource databases
Assess and evaluate infrastructure for new development of trauma registries
Quality control: Design and implement a data quality control program that improves and documents registry data quality. Design and implement statistical analysis software code required for the quality control program.
Assess completion rates and perform validity checks
Ensure compliance with data dictionary
Document and provide resources for improving quality within institutions over time
Perform comparison studies to state, region, national, all sites
Identify and resolve hard-to-complete data fields
Provide education at hospital and state level to ensure consistency in data
Research: Facilitate research efforts for trauma centers, HCA, and outside researchers.


• Bachelor's Degree in health care, business administration, information systems, or a related field; or combined completion of college course work and/or associate degree and ten years’ experience in health care setting demonstrating ascending roles of responsibility will be considered.

• Requires a minimum of ten years of extensive database management experience at a Level I or Level II verified trauma center

• Seven to ten years in a healthcare environment with emphasis on business process design, and/or information systems management.

• Sound understanding of full project life cycle including business requirements gathering, current and
future state work flow development

• Six Sigma, or other noted process improvement method certification preferred

• Experience in supervision, team building and problem-solving in a complex health care system


• SQL Server, .Net, SQL,, asp, html, visual, JavaScript certification or proficiency.
• Make ODBC and DSN connections from web pages to databases.
• Six Sigma, or other noted process improvement method certification preferred
• Ability to take web pages from development server to production server, self-contained department
• The ability to build an entire web application from design phase to deployment on production server.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and interact favorably with people.
• Primary travel within the state of Florida with possible progression to other HCA hospitals.
