Operating under HCA’s Physician Services Group (PSG), Ambulatory EHR supports approximately 800 practices and 3,600 providers in seven regions throughout the nation.
The teams work together to implement, optimize and provide continuous support to providers using the HCA-hosted version of the eClinicalWorks Electronic Health Record and other non-standard EHR systems.
The AVP for AEHR Operations is responsible for resource management, implementation/optimization schedules, EHR implementation, EHR Optimizations, chart migrations, training initiatives and overall budget for the Ambulatory EHR Team.
Responsibilities include:
  1. Develop employee engagement strategies to ensure employees, both local and remote, feel engaged, feel part of a team, and have trust and faith in leadership. 
  2. Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to direct reports and other members of the team to achieve goals and objectives.
  3. Provide day-to-day overall leadership, management and direction for both local and remote teams.
  4. Implement strategy to effectively manage a large number of communication nodes and coordination points among teams, corporate staff, practice staff and providers associated with the implementation/optimization of the PSG standard EHR application.
  5. Provide leadership, guidance and support to implement a program management strategy to ensure EMR implementation/optimization efforts across related HCA departments, facilities, and business partners are tightly coordinated, controlled and effective.
  6. Manage and guide the teams in the design and develop of toolkits across the enterprise in order to effect a consistent, sustainable and repeatable process that is efficient and effective.
  7. Responsible for team to design and implement a first-rate scheduling process that has permanency for the effective coordination and deployment of teams to the field while maintaining flexibility to accommodate acquisitions and other unforeseen issues that would require a schedule change. 
  8. Manage the team that develops and maintains the master implementation/optimization /optimization /optimization schedule across multiple teams, multiple plans, and dependencies.
  9. Manage efforts and provide leadership to ensure team has developed an effective master work plan and that it is tightly coordinated with corporate and field-based work.
  10. Manage team to design, development and delivery training associated with AEHR activities in the most effective pedagogical level.
  11. Manage and provide subject matter expertise to design and develop the site-preparation guides and cutover guides to support implementation/optimization efforts in addition to toolkit creation.  Continuous improvement of these guides based on lessons learned with previous implementation//optimizations.
  12. Provide leadership to enable teams to adjust and communicate overall implementation/optimization plans and took kits in response to changing business requirements.

Qualifications EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Clinical Practice (Master's Degree or postgraduate preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years management experience within healthcare
  • EHR system implementation/optimization  and management experience required
  • 6+ years of experience managing large-scale, health information technology (HIT) platforms preferred
  • Strong leadership skills required
  • Strategy design and development expertise a must
  • Ability to manage, lead and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent management and team building skills
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Travel will be 20%
